Mitasu expanding its RACING MOTOR OIL range: popular viscosity grade and proven high-tech solutions15 January 2019
The MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL range has expanded with a new addition: MJ-115. MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL SN 10W-50 100% Synthetic. We shall look closely into the features and benefits of this new oil for motorsport. Similar to its predecessor MJ-116. MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL SN 10W-60 100% Synthetic, the new product MJ-115. MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL SN 10W-50 100% Synthetic is formulated with ester and PAO (polyalphaolefin) base oils and specifically designed for high-performance sports and racing cars. Featuring high viscosity index and exceptional low-temperature fluidity, it can be used all year around. These two, however, are not “twin oils” that only stand out from one another by their viscosity characteristics. The new product was created using a powerful high-tech additive package with normal ash content (Full SAPS). As a result, this oil demonstrates an extremely high level of protection against wear under critical loads, has better detergent-dispersing properties and a higher resistance to oxidation, allowing for a longer replacement interval. This provides additional benefits to those who, for example, use their car for everyday driving, but might have a go on a race track or take part in amateur competitions on weekends. It is not advisable to mix MJ-115 and MJ-116 when refilling oil. Despite a similar base, their additive packages are significantly different! Viscosity grade xW-50, which MJ-115 belongs to, is very popular in auto- and motorsport in Japan. These oils are especially widely used in engines with varying degrees of modification in such vehicles as MMC Lancer Evolution I - IX (twin 4G63T), Mazda RX-7 / Savanna (twin 13B-REW / 13B), Nissan Skyline GTR (twin RB26DETT) and others. In European motorsport, xW-50 oils are used in Porsche 911 (mod. 964, 993), FIAT 500 Abarth and other makes. Generally speaking, the new product has a much wider range of applications and can be used not only in sports and racing cars, but also in conventional vehicles. It is not a prerequisite to have the lubrication system modified in order to use MJ-115. Due to its viscous properties, the new product can be used in a variety of engines where car manufacturers recommend using xW-40 oils, i.e. in standard regular-use engines. MJ-115. MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL SN 10W-50 100% Synthetic is approved for diesel engines of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. It is particularly recommended for diesel engines of classic off-road vehicles (1HZ, 1HD, TD42, RD28, OM602, OM603, etc.) operating under severe conditions. It is not recommended to use MJ-115 in modern diesel engines equipped with diesel particulate filters, as well as those designed for xW-30 oils! Compared to MITASU’s other synthetic 5W-50 oils, MJ-115. MITASU RACING MOTOR OIL SN 10W-50 100% Synthetic surpasses them by a number of parameters. MJ-113. MITASU PLATINUM PAO SN 5W-50 100% Synthetic - this product will soon become obsolete. The more efficient MJ-115 will replace MJ-113 MJ-M13. MITASU MOLY-TRiMER SM 5W-50 100% Synthetic - offered at a more attractive price, this product has an obvious advantage compared to MJ-115, however, under critical load conditions, the latter shows significantly lower waste, higher temperature stability and oxidation resistance. The new product launched by MITASU OIL CORPORATION has an extensive range of applications and meets a wide spectrum of vehicle manufacturers' requirements, providing maximum engine protection under extreme operating conditions, including sports competitions.
